Why Landscape Painting?
Landscape painting is more than putting paint on a canvas—it’s about capturing the beauty of nature, translating breathtaking views into art, and discovering your unique artistic style. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have dabbled in art, this course will guide you step by step through creating your own landscape masterpiece.
By the end of the course, you’ll have learned valuable skills like composition, colour mixing, and brush techniques—and walk away with your own completed piece of art.
What You’ll Learn in this art class:
- Composition and planning a landscape
- Creating depth and atmosphere in your landscape
- Colour mixing secrets to bring your scene to life
- Techniques for painting skies, water, trees, and natural textures
- Refining details and finishing touches
Each week, we will focus on a different aspect of the painting, allowing you to work step-by-step toward a fully realized landscape. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your unique style as you gain confidence with your materials and techniques.
Who Is This Landscape Painting Course For?
- Beginners: No prior experience is required, and you’ll be guided through the process at a comfortable pace.
- Intermediate Painters: Looking to refine your skills and learn new techniques? This course will help you take your landscape painting to the next level.
Materials Provided:
- Paint, canvases/canvas boards, painting brushes.
What You Need to Bring:
- A sketchbook and pencil
- An apron or old clothes to protect your clothing
- A drink
- If you have a painting you want to finish or amend, please bring it along
- A reference photo or painting to use as inspiration

- Time: 7 PM – 9 PM (2 hours per session)
- Location: Upstairs, By Design, A Local Story, Castletroy Shopping Centre
- Duration: 6 weeks (12 hours total)
- Max Capacity: 10 students per class
Cost:
- Full Course (6 weeks): €120 (€20 per class when booked as a full course) – save €60
- Pay-as-You-Go: €30 per class

Q: Can I attend just one class? A: Yes! You can choose the pay-as-you-go option, though full-course bookings are encouraged for better continuity and learning.
Q: What materials do I need? A: A sketchbook and pencil, a drink, and an apron or old clothes. I will supply canvases, paints, and brushes, but if you have a favorite palette or set of brushes, please bring them along.
