A good friend of mine runs our local Limerick plein air , and I’m participating fully alongside everyone else. What is Plein Air Painting? Simply put, it’s painting outdoors “in the open air.” We gather at beautiful locations around Limerick, Ireland to paint what we see – landscapes, buildings, people, whatever catches our artistic eye. It’s one of the most rewarding ways to develop your painting skills while enjoying Ireland’s stunning scenery.
Who Can Join Our Limerick Plein air event? Everyone! Whether you’ve never held a paintbrush or you’re an experienced artist looking for art classes in Limerick, you’re welcome. The group is supportive, encouraging, and we all learn from each other.
What to Expect from Plein Air Painting:

Art Classes Limerick – Returning End of Summer
I know many of you have been asking when the next round of painting classes in Limerick will begin. While I’m still finalizing all the details, I can tell you that I’m planning to resume art workshops at the end of summer.
What I’m Planning for Art Classes Limerick:
- Mix of beginner painting classes and intermediate art workshops
- Various mediums including acrylic painting, drawing and oil painting.
- Small class sizes for personalised art instruction
- Evening painting classes (Mon & Wed), Upstairs in By Design, Castletroy
- Occasional Saturday / Sunday workshops (4 – 6 hours 🙂 ).
- Focus on practical art skills and creative development
