About the Course:

Join me, Nici Le Gear, an emerging landscape artist from the west of Ireland, for an immersive 6-week landscape painting course. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced painter, this course is designed to guide you through the process of creating a complete landscape painting from start to finish.

Each class is 2 hours long, providing hands-on instruction to help you develop your skills and confidence in landscape painting. Over 12 hours of guided studio time, you’ll learn essential techniques like composition, layering, and refining details, with the opportunity to create a finished piece you’ll be proud to display.

Course Details:

• Dates: Oct 4th  – Nov 8th, weeks 1 through 6.
• Time: 7 to 9pm (2 hours per session)
• Location: Upstairs, By Design – a Local Story, Castletroy Shopping Centre.
• Duration: 6 weeks (12 hours total)
• Cost:
  • €20 per class when booked as a full course (€120 total)
  • €25 per class for pay-as-you-go attendance
• Max Capacity: 15 students

What You’ll Learn:

• Composition and planning a landscape
• Colour mixing and brush techniques
• Creating depth and atmosphere
• Painting natural elements like trees, water, and sky
• Refining details and finishing touches

Each week we will focus on a different aspect of the painting, allowing you to work step-by-step toward a fully realised landscape. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your unique style as you gain more confidence with your materials and techniques.

Who Is This Course For?

• Beginners: No prior experience is required, and you’ll be guided through the process at a comfortable pace.
• Intermediate Painters: Looking to refine your skills and learn new techniques? This course will help you take your landscape painting to the next level.

Materials:

I will supply the materials, but please feel free to bring your favourite brushes / palette if you have them.

Please also wear an apron / old clothes for the class in order to protect your clothes.

How to Book:

• Full Course: €120 total for all 6 classes.
  • Week 1: Oct 4th
  • Week 2: Oct 11th
  • Week 3: Oct 18th
  • Week 4: Oct 25th
  • Week 5: Nov 1st
  • Week 6: Nov 8th
• Pay-as-You-Go: €25 per class.
